Technical Superintendent

Our Scottish maritime client requires a Technical Superintendent to provide comprehensive technical management in support of Small Vessel Asset Management and Projects.  

The Successful Applicant

• Can-do attitude and hands-on, pro-active approach;
• COC Class 1 ideally;
• Previous shore based operational management experience;
• Dry-docking experience;
• Experienced in producing Dry-docking specifications;
• A driven and ambitious professional;

Job Description

The Technical Superintendent is expected to be an integral part of the Asset Management Team and associated support staff while fostering an effective working relationship with others within and outside the Company. He or she will be responsible for the planning and overseeing of Annual Overhauls and Vessel Upgrades and Projects associated with the Company's Small Vessel Fleet including the maintaining of budgets and procedures as outlined in the Company Management System.   Working within the Asset Management Department, your duties will include:  

• In conjunction with the Asset Management Team accomplish the planning and coordination function for vessel overhauls & emergency dockings
• To assist Asset Management/Service Delivery teams with planning and coordination of spares, service providers, third parties for the accomplishment of vessel modifications, upgrades & projects
• To plan & coordinate vessel maintenance
• To support Continual Improvement Process/Betterment within planning function of Asset Management
• Ensuring that the annual overhaul specification is prepared, agreed, costed and that quotations are submitted in good time for approval by the Head of Asset Management and Director of Asset Management
• Liaison with MCA and Classification societies and appointment of same as and when necessary
• Supervision and control of annual overhaul, in-water survey and repairs to small vessels.
• Carrying out technical inspections annually, of each vessel for which he is responsible.
• Any other duties as required by the Head of Asset Management.
