Permanent position Malta

For a client within vessel repair and maintenance in Malta, we (OffshoreCrew AS, Norway) are currently looking for a Shipyard Chemist.

Job Description

You will be part of the Marine, Environment and Safety Department and required to conduct gas-free and dangerous goods (DG) inspections on-board vessels going into the shipyard to certify that the vessels are free from flammable vapours/DG prior entry to shipyards.
In addition, you would need to provide technical advice in the event of an emergency/incident involving chemicals/oils in the shipyard.

You should possess a Degree in Science (Chemistry) or equivalent. Candidates with good knowledge in marine operations and ship structure as well as familiar with Workplace Safety and Health practices in maritime industries or well versed with emergency response on chemical/oil spills, will have an added advantage.
