We (Worldwide Recruitment Solutions) is seeking an experienced Operations Superintendent like yourself for a permanent position within a reputable Marine company.

The position is to work as an Operations Superintendent in Aberdeen the duties for this role will include the following:

  • Responsible for daily liaison with assigned vessels to ensure their activities are being co-ordinated effectively.
  • Provide advice and guidance to Masters, Chief Engineers and other relevant parties on-board to promote best practice.
  • Initiate and conduct investigations into operational difficulties, proposing and implementing cost effective solutions.
  • Drive evaluation of incidents and closure of same utilising the QHSE Department as required
  • Working with the Marine Operations Superintendent in the investigation of Incidents and to establish the root cause and make recommendations to prevent a recurrence. Assisting as required in any emergency response
  • Working closely with on board Vessel Management and in liaison with other parties i.e. Marine Operations Superintendent to ensure that repairs of all reported deficiencies, damages and non-conformities are cleared as quickly as possible.
  • Review Vessel safety meeting minutes, evaluate and respond in a timely manner
  • Vetting and approval of vessel spares, stores and consumable requisitions. Ensuring that strict cost control on all aspects of vessel expenditure is enforced and taking action where necessary to operate at budget level
  • Reporting monthly on Running Costs; Budget Variances; Outstanding Defects; Outstanding Purchase Requisitions, Breakdown, Major Repairs and overdue maintenance enabling the Operations Administrator to populate KPI's in line with departmental objectives.
  • Preparation of vessel running budgets in line with survey requirements working closely with vessel management team

The requirements is to hold a Class 1 certificate of competency as Deck or Engineer officer and a valid BOSIET or HUET and an industry medical. The role is to start in January 2018.
