About Our Client

Our client is part of a Global Shipping Group with a large fleet of various vessel types.  For this particular position our client is looking for a Vessel Manager for their LNG Carrier fleet.

The Successful Applicant

  • Must have Chief Engineer CoC
  • Previous experience as a Chief Engineer on LNG / LPG
  • Must have shore based experience in a Vessel Manager / Technical Superintendent of Liquid cargo vessel
  • Experience and knowledge of modern Dual Fuel Diesel Electric engines highly desirable.
  • Advanced Tanker Safety Training
  • Advanced Tanker Safety Training (Gas)
  • ENG 1 Medical Certificate (or equivalent)

Job Description

The Vessel Manager will be responsible for the following duties of each ship in their charge, under the guidance and supervision of the Fleet Manager:

  • Budget Management;
  • Offer Guidance and supervision of crew as the exclusive contact with ships;
  • Responsible for reviewing crew performance;
  • Maintaining ship’s total performance to satisfy TCP.
  • Ordering repair work, parts, ship's stores and LO;
  • Monitoring the arrangement process, completing servicing safely, and ensuring connection of goods to vessels;
  • Supervision of the outsourced repair work;
  • Negotiate with shipyards for any maintenance / repairs required;
  • Negotiate with manufacturers of machinery and equipment;
  • Monitoring maintenance management of the fleet;
  • Arranging and following up SIRE and Oil Major Inspections;
