Our client is looking to recruit two experienced masters into their organisation for an opportunity to fill these hands on, fast paced and exciting vacancies.  These positions would suit experienced masters that have previous experience piloting ferries.    The role of Duty Port Manager will consist of various piloting, ops and administration duties therefore it is imperative that candidates have previous experience piloting vessels.  Excellent communication skills will also be essential to candidates being able to perform their duties to the highest standards. This is an exceptionally varied role and will see the successful candidates taking responsibility for the day to day running of the port ensuring smooth functioning of one of the most strategically important ports in the UK.

The Successful Applicant

Successful applicants must have the following training and experience.  

• Extensive experience as Master or Chief Officer;
• Proven pilotage and ship handling skills;
• MCA STCW II/2 Master Unlimited certificate of competence;
• Track record of management and leadership in a marine environment;
• Comfortable liaising with internal and external customers alike;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• VHF Radio Certificate;
• Business acumen and commercial awareness.
