General Job Description


Shore End Operations Manager required by our London based client to:

  • Manage all third party shore end subcontractor technical bid assessments as an input to the PMM/Contracts evaluation process for separate and direct shore ends
  • Oversee all third party shore end subcontractor on site installation’s
  • Maintain a detailed continuous technical audit system on third party shore end subcontractor
  • Develop company strategy and capability to be able to complete own shore end installations

Job Description

  • Work with Survey Dept to ensure that the CRS, and Inshore survey SOW will give sufficient data, for Shore End RFQ & Installation planning
  • Review/challenge the Route Engineering solutions
  • Update and maintain the company Generic SOW
  • Liaise with PMM’s on actual SOW for tendering
  • Review technical bids, and construct technical evaluation sheet
  • Liaise with PMM’s/Purchasing and arrange shore end bids evaluation meeting
  • Review and comment on shore end contractors detailed operational/safety procedures
  • Assist PMM’s with Risk Reviews, and alternative solutions/mitigation plans, focused on reducing operational risk and expenditure
  • Provide training, briefings and feedback for the supervision staff
  • Perform inspection of equipment spread, as required
  • Liaise with PMM’s on daily progress of shore end installations and provide support where required, and in the case of difficulty provide customer assistance
  • Hold to account the shore end contractor in terms of their compliance with the technical requirements
  • Review and comment on shore end contractors detailed final operational reports
  • Liaise with Purchasing and PMM’s in evaluating third party subcontractors performance
  • Conduct audits on a bi annual basis or as required by the business
  • Evaluate and benchmark subcontractor performance, to identify more effective/efficient process improvements
  • Review of Marine Incidents, and participation to Project Close-out meetings to capture Lessons learnt
  • Liaise with PMM’s on SOW improvements based upon actual events, to update generic requirements
  • Review equipment, staff and training requirements and cost
  • Review risk and develop business case as appropriate
  • Liaise with Marine Engineering to develop in-house capabilities, and new processes
  • Prepare Specifications/Procedures/Checklists etc
