Our client, based in the Netherlands is looking for an Engineering Instructor (EGCS) to join their expanding team and take responsibility for the management and lead delivery of the EGCS course.

Established since 2009, our client is a world class marine training centre based in Netherlands, specialising in safety and excellence in maritime operations.  They have advanced simulator equipment and technology and provide first- class maritime training. 

The Successful Applicant

• STCW III/2 Management level Certificate of Competency (COC) or equivalent qualification
• Experience with Marine Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems and other environmental compliance processes
• Cruise ship experience is desirable but not essential
• Proven organizational and reporting capability
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Teaching/instructing experience is desirable

Job Description

As an Engineering Instructor for the EGCS courses, your key responsibilities/duties will include:

• Ship / office / factory visits will be required as part of the instructor’s familiarization
• Continued development of training courses for staff working with EGCS
• Delivering training to Engineer Officers and other ship-board staff as required. This will include existing training courses in addition to the primary role of EGCS training
• Performing assessments of Engineer Officers and other ship-board staff
• Developing existing staff knowledge of EGCS practices
• Keeping up-to-date with current regulatory requirements / practices and technology.
• Working to deliver weekend training currently once per month
• Assisting and delivering Environmental training
