An exciting new opportunity has just arisen for an experienced and ambitious Technical Superintendent to step into a new role with an established offshore services company based in Singapore.

This position is an immediate start and the client is looking to interview ASAP.

Job Purpose:

The Technical Superintendent will be responsible for the management and technical operations of the fleet, including daily operations, budgeting, survey schedules, on board general assessment of vessels, inspection, routine maintenance and docking, etc.

Experience / Skills / Core Competencies:

Min 8 yrs. sailing experience in Shipping / Offshore industry.Possess sea-going experience as Chief Engineer / 2nd Engineer with minimum Class 2 certification.Minimum one year experience either as Tech Superintendent or as Chief Engineer / 2nd Engineer on Offshore Supply / Dive Support vessels.Familiar with ISM / ISPS and possess strong knowledge of requirements of Class societies.Experience in New Building / Conversion projects will be an added advantage.Understanding of Information Technology and Systems management.

Duties:

Ship management activies

Liaise with customers and respond with solutions in technical and operational matters.Attend to vessel dry dockings, repairs and surveys when required and determine repair specifications for dry docking and maintenance.Ensure that Ship Managers are strictly complying with the Shipman Agreement and escalate concerns to Tech and Ops Manager.Ensure that all copies of Statutory, Class and equipment certificates are properly maintained and documents. Monitor status of vessel with relation to Class Cert and Surveys.Provide technical assistance and advice to Ship's Masters and Chief Engineers.Perform monthly review of vessel reports and attend to vessel inspections on a quarterly basis or as instructed by Technical Director. Perform technical compliance audits and investigation of defects/failures on board vessels.Supervise contractors' repair/maintenance of vessels.Work closely with the QHSE Management team to ensure smooth and successful implementation of QHSE system and policies on the vessels and on NB/Conversion projects.Perform systematic review of recommended codes, guidelines and standards and ensure compliance with Company's Quality & Safety Management standards.Ensure and maintain vessels' zero lost time accident record and report all Near Misses to prevent and eliminate potential incidents.Undertake any other Technical assignments related to vessels in operation and under construction as and when required by the Technical Director.Act as back-up of Tech & Ops Manager during his absence.

Perform other job related duties as assigned by the Technical Director.

Management Reporting

Analysis of monthly reporting from the Ship Managers.Prepare Technical Budget of assigned vessels for approval of Technical Director.Review of Dry-dock specifications and Yard evaluations for dry-docking and downtime repairs.Prepare and present Vessel Inspection Reports.

Guidance and Authority:

Technical Superintendent will work closely with the vessel's Master and Chief Engineer, Commercial, Accounts, QHSE team and with the Ship Manager under the direction of Tech & Ops Manager to ensure effective control on ship management activities.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications

Mandatory STCW certificates are required from all applicants.
