  • Follow Permit to Work procedures
  • Manage safety reporting system on the unit
  • Update safe work procedures on board as deemed necessary
  • Organize and call for safety meetings, safety committee meetings, accident prevention committee meetings and prepares minutes of meeting
  • Manage oil and chemical spill clean-up equipment
  • Manage pollution response
  • Monitor equipment, systems and procedures to reduce risks for pollution
  • Monitor all gas and oxygen-measuring equipment is well maintained and calibrated as per manufactures instruction and ensure that personnel assigned to use the equipment are trained and supervised
  • Ensure that personnel executing hazardous work are competent and duly informed of the work procedures
  • Monitor crew lists, and other documentation related to FPSO personnel movement
  • Liaise with OIM regarding the units security plan
  • Undertake training relevant to the position requirements.

Requirements

Have completed education and meet the standard of STCW code A-II/2 for chief mates on tankers ≥ 3000 GR
Be familiar with H2S hazards and monitor H2S content
Experienced in Risk Assessment and Safe Job Analysis
Familiar with Computerized Maintenance Management System
Excellent command in English written and spoken
Basic Safety Training: (A-VI/1-1 A-VI/1-2 A-VI/1-3 A-VI/1-4)
Security Awareness Training for seafarers with Designated Security Duties
Ship Security Officer (SSO)
Advanced fire fighting
Survival craft and rescue boats
Medical first aid
Advanced training for oil tankers
Bridge team / resource management
Assessor training
Radar observation & plotting ARPA
GMDSS
ECDIS
