A well respected large European company involved in ship building, surveying, auditing and classification is looking for a Maritime Surveyor to join their UK team.

Candidates based around the North East of England will be highly considered due to the locations of work. You will operate from your home as a base, travelling to local ship yards, engineering and manunfacturing facilities and docks.

A company car is provided, along with full time salary of £35-40k depending on experience, plus benefits including overtime, pension, medical insurance and health care.

Those with Chief Engineer certificates, or 2nd Engineer alongside a degree in Marine Engineering will be considered. Extensive seagoing experience is a must, and mixed vessel experience is sought after. This is a very physical role, and candidates may be required to provide a valid medical. The company is looking for people who want to develop and progress in a surveying/auditing role - on the job training is extensive, and can take two to three years, so this role is for somebody looking for a long term onshore career.

Due to the amount of paperwork involved with this role, excellent English language skills are a must - both written and spoken. Non British applicants must be based in the UK (North East) and able to validate their English language skills.
