Manufacturing Engineer
We are the global leader in Oil and Gas recruitment and consulting, providing our clients with permanent and project based solutions. We employ a team of 140 professionals globally with operations in the United Kingdom, Singapore, and the United States (Houston and Florida). We have partnered with a Global Oil and Gas Industry leader that is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support for manufacturing personnel in activities relating to productivity improvement, product quality and process qualification.
Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer include:
- Obtain optimal usage of floor space, maximizing material flow, coordinating specified projects, solving manufacturing related problems, and specifying machinery and tooling for designated areas.
- Continuously seek to improve operating efficiencies with the adaptation of new technology, machinery and better processes.
- Seek simplified methods of eliminating wasted movement.
- Maximize flow through the plant to speed the manufacturing process.
- Establish and formalize sound manufacturing procedures.
- Challenge established benchmarks.
- Evaluate opportunities for Set-up reduction.
- Select machinery to best manufacture the product.
- Design plant floor space to make the best use of cellular manufacturing.
- Train operators on preventative maintenance and operation of the equipment.
- Analyze current costs and make appropriate recommendations for cost reduction.
- Analyze lead time and make recommendations to reduce lead time.
Requirements for the Manufacturing Engineer are as follows:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering
- Basic knowledge of machine shop procedures
- Working knowledge of tool geometry, jig and fixture design and manufacturing procedures
- 3+ years' experience
- Experience in machining, CNC programming, SolidWorks, welding, etc. is a plus.
