PLC Programmer

We are the global leader in Oil and Gas recruitment and consulting, providing our clients with permanent and project based solutions. We employ a team of 140 professionals globally with operations in the United Kingdom, Singapore, and the United States (Houston and Florida). We have partnered with a major operator in their search for a PLC Programmer. The PLC Programmer will service their Midstream Services division.

The PLC Programmer will be responsible for:

  • Writing and maintaining PLC programs for the midstream services salt water, gas, and oil gathering systems
  • Assists in the installation, checkout, and commissioning of the salt water, gas, and oil gathering systems
  • Assists with field location communication - including installation, configuration, check out, and commissioning
  • Interfaces with midstream services and Houston engineering team to ensure safe and accurate operation of PLC and SCADA devices
  • Works closely with the production personnel, plant personnel, and 3rd party midstreams to coordinate and maintain flow data retrieval and communication systems

Minimum Qualifications for the PLC Programmer include:

  • Associates Degree or certification in PLC Programing, Electrical Technician or related field
  • 5 years of industry experience regarding PLC design, programming, and communication of gas gathering/compressor stations, crude oil gathering, and salt water disposal systems
  • Must be able to plan & coordinate PLC installations and communications systems
  • Ability to travel when needed

Preferred Qualifications for the PLC Programmer are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • PLC programming background to include - familiarity of Allen Bradley PLCs, good understanding of ladder logic
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, perform end-to-end point testing, and maintaining the equipment across the field
  • Communications background - ability to configure, install, troubleshoot and maintain Serial and Ethernet, terminal servers, satellites, spread spectrum radios and/or cellular modems
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office
