We have partnered with a Global Oil and Gas Industry leader that is looking for a Director of Construction/BD for a major EPC.

The Director of Construction/BD position will be based in Houston.

Responsibilities for the Director of Construction/BD position:

  • Responsible for execution of all constructions activities in accordance with Construction policies and procedures.
  • The overall responsibility and leadership/management of all construction activities, both in the home office and at the project site.
  • Participating in marketing initiatives and promoting good client relationships leading to repeat business.
  • Ensures adherence to construction standards and procedures, Environment, Health and Safety requirements and other appropriate regulations and codes.
  • Works with Construction Manager(s) to plan and design the construction of assets and ensures appropriate and timely resources are available to support the development and execution of major projects.
  • Ensures proper staffing and training/mentoring of regular and contract staff, implementing an inspection program (QAQC) to ensure construction quality, inspector competency, and compliance with applicable codes, and specifications and completion.
  • Approving proposals to ensure compliance with corporate profit margin goals.
  • Responsible for the development of country/region specific construction execution strategies.
  • Supports PDP and Feed in Home Office
  • Supports proposal preparation

Required Experience for the Director of Construction/BD position:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction and/or Engineering
  • 20 years' in the Energy and Chemicals industry with both corporate and field experience
  • Heavy industrial experience preferred.

Required Skill for the Director of Construction/BD position:

  • Both home office and field project US Gulf coast EPC/Plant Services experience with world class heavy industrial petrochemical technologies/operations.
  • Successful experience leading and managing projects with TIC scope of $250mm to $20 billion. Experienced with project contract management, project controls, labor relations, and estimating.
  • Experience creating and executing both corporate and project proposal budgeting that support the company's missions and goals.
  • Proven track record of evaluating resource requirements that are aligned with both short-term and long-term strategic execution objectives.
  • Excellent oral presentation and written communications skills.
