Cost Control Advisor

Advisor - Cost Control - Aberdeen Based.

The Advisor - Cost Control is to provide a cost control service in relation to all vessel crew cost activities and to act as a key interface between HR and Finance departments in conjunction with Vessel Management teams on and offshore.

The Advisor - Cost Control (together with his/ her team) will ensure to provide monthly accruals, cost variances analysis, invoice control, cost monitoring and cost allocation, cost modelling; budgeting and forecasting to support the regular business operation. He or she will also provide financial guidance and support to the Vessel Management Team and will ultimately be responsible for the supervision of any cost control support staff(s).

Basic Occupational Competence
Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ CA preferably from the UK) or recognised accountancy degree.

Experience & Knowledge
Relevant experience in a similar Cost Control role/ or Management Accountant role will be advantageous but not essential. Previous experience in an audit firm/ role preferred. Supervisor level or capable of assisting managers at supervisor level.

Responsibilities

The Advisor - Cost Control duties include, but are not limited to:

*Responsibility for the quality and outputs of all Cost Control and provision of related analytical reports, with Particular focus upon vessel crewing costs;
*Provision of input, analysis and explanations for monthly vessel finance reviews including monthly variance analysis, accruals and forecasts;
*Preparation of monthly prognosis and review of financial accruals in relation to vessel crew and other HR costs;
*Closely work with HR Vessel Support and Vessel Management teams both on and offshore to ensure cost management and spending is accurately recorded and accounted for against each vessel and departmental budgets on an ongoing basis;
*Undertake cost control management in relation to key supplier contracts such as crewing agencies, travel management and training management providers, etc.;
*Budgeting and forecasting of vessel crews related costs when required;
*Undertake and manage vessel crew cost control process and continue to seek for improvement to ensure the efficiency of cost management and tracking is achieved;
*Supervise and monitor processes relating to management and coding of purchase invoices relating to crewing and HR;
*Responsible to ensure that all invoices relating to crew are processed in a timely manner and that all costs are correctly allocated to the proper cost centre and account codes;
*Review preparation of payroll journals to ensure correct cost allocation;
*Assist in the preparation of data and information for submission in relation to ITTs; or Bids; etc.;
*Contribute and continue to support the management team to optimise information/ reporting system relating to payroll/ vessel crew costs and ensure all processes and procedures relating to crew cost control is documented and updated in the Company Integrated Management System;
*Ad-hoc tasks or projects required by the management.
