Engineering Director

Provide effective engineering management of all aspects of the engineering department, product development projects and programs, services support and global engineering processes in support to all Operational Divisions, Companies and Support Services.

Responsibilities
*Management of all engineering resources globally.
*Management of all engineering budgets (department, programs, projects, developments) to ensure the cost of engineering work is always within the allocated costs and all engineering deliverables are completed as per the assigned schedule.
*Maintaining a suitable, safe working environment for all department activities.
*Ensure all engineering information is available and to the required standard for all activities to be carried out.
*Maintenance of all product technical files and product designs to ensure compliance to the latest standards, rules and regulations.
*Co-ordination of global product development activities.
*Ownership of all engineering processes and ensuring they are standardized and adhered to globally.
*Product rationalization to maintain a high quality, up to date, cost effective product range that can be efficiently supported.
*Management of innovation and new technology for integration into products.
*Reporting on department performance by setting and monitoring KPIs.
*Agree allocation of engineering personnel for secondment to operational divisions or support services as required.
*Proactively react to a range of circumstance that may require swift and timely action at any level in the business to protect the interest of the business with due considerations to the commercial implications any resulting actions may have.
*Proactively develop engineering initiatives, with a view to continual improvement and evolution of engineering processes.
*Act as senior representative for the company advising and managing interaction with engineering regulatory bodies.
*Provide the various Management Team's with monthly engineering performance reports and maintain all rolling action items lists'.

Experience
*10 years engineering management experience.
*Project management experience.
*BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
*Process mapping and procedure development.
*Ability to work effectively within a team structure, accept and understand management instruction manage own timescales and specified timescales effectively. Excellent attention to detail.
*Experience of working in marine/ diving or manufacturing.
*Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and personnel issues.
*Knowledge and understanding of the latest engineering standards, rules and regulations.
*Flexible for travel to local or overseas sites if required.
*Full driving license.
