We have partnered with a Global Oil and Gas Industry leader that is looking for an Engineering Project Manager to be responsible for full project life cycle management.

The Engineering Project Manager position will be based in Houston.


Responsibilities for the Engineering Project Manager:

  • To provide management oversight for all phases of projects and ensuring that specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
  • Provides project management for projects assigned. Monitors costs of the projects and tracks and controls schedules to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget parameters.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of several disciplines on a capital investment project or combination of smaller projects.
  • May initiate or assist in contract negotiations or preparation.
  • Project planning, budgeting and establishing critical project objectives.
  • Liaise with internal customer groups to determine the work scope required for nominated projects, deliverables, cost, schedule and quality objectives.
  • Evaluation and selection of key equipment items.
  • Main equipment procurement contracts.
  • Engineering and construction contracts.
  • Development and maintenance of construction schedule.
  • Creates and coordinates RFPs, reviews bids, makes recommendations regarding bids, and generally manages the bidding system.
  • Ensures all permits and other required licenses are acquired.
  • Maintains documents pertaining to projects.
  • Assists with identifying operational efficiencies, opportunities for safety, revenue generation and cost savings for terminals.

Requirements for the Engineering Project Manager:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Project Management, Construction Science, Engineering or related degree preferred.
  • Or combination of relevant education in construction or project management and a Bachelor of Science Degree
  • Oil and gas industry or coordinator of technical field project work, preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' experience of project management in the terminal/refinery environment.
  • Proven project management skills with a demonstrated track record of success, supported with relevant industry experience.
  • Experience overseeing project plans, designs, approvals, estimating, contracting and materials management, change management, monitoring and reporting.
  • Experience ensuring the timely oversight of project controls including quoted costs and schedule commitments.
  • Experience managing project teams in the development phase of large scale, capital construction projects.
  • Skilled in the development and negotiation of equipment, engineering and construction contracts.
  • Experience in managing employees preferred

This position requires up to 80% travel.
