Responsibilities for the Technical Writer include:

  • Own the templates and style guide applicable to all procedures, plans, strategy or philosophy documents, specifications, etc. related to the project
  • Format hard copy and electronic documents and content for project managers. Complete and edit training materials and slide presentations
  • Review, edit, modify and enhance existing content for print and electronic media - applying a consistent corporate style to all documents and presentations
  • Convert existing documents or electronic content to alternative delivery media
  • Apply relevant quality, regulatory or organizational standards and best practices for readability
  • Apply consistent grammar, punctuation and overall editorial consistency to documents
  • Collect documentation from previous projects and assist in the development of new content for procedures or plans required. Interview SME's or team members and transcribe oral information into written, editable form
  • Review and edit information within project reports, including proprietary reporting system, the company's program information and reporting system
  • Assist in set-up and presentation of slides and other documents for on-site and virtual meetings and conferences
  • Facilitate socializing of new standards, plans, procedures, etc. and amendments to existing ones

Requirements for the Technical Writer are as follows:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related discipline
  • Five years of technical writing experience
  • 10 years direct writing experience will be considered in lieu of degree
