We have partnered with a Global Oil and Gas Industry leader that is looking for an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer.

The Instrumentation and Controls Engineer position will be based in Houston.

 

Responsibilities for the Instrumentation and Controls Engineer:

  • Participates in project scope definition, project drawing reviews, equipment data review and supports cost development and construction start up support.
  • Develops or directs development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and P&ID to ensure compliance with specifications and control scheme.
  • Provides Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering expertise for the design, specifications, functionality of all electrical, control systems, instrumentation, ESD and DCS/PLC systems, communication systems and other electrical and instrument related processes.
  • Develops or directs development of electrical one line diagrams, area classifications drawings and load lists, electrical routing and ground, switchgear and MCC drawings.
  • Performs control valve sizing, relief valve sizing, flow element sizing
  • Reviews vendor drawings, connections, calculations and other technical documentation related to instrumentation and electrical systems.
  • Review direct review and inspection of all shop related instruments and electrical work. Perform final inspection or checkout for instrumentation and electrical systems of completed systems.
  • Provide verification of loops and integrity of control and instrumentation systems in order to maximize system reliability.

Requirements for the Instrumentation and Controls Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Professional Engineering License in good standing with at least one state is preferred.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of Instrumentation and Controls working experience in a large facility environment.
  • Strong leadership and effective management and organizational skills.
  • A high level of safety awareness and knowledge of applicable NEC, API and other common industry codes
  • Required to obtain mandated certification in basic first aid, CPR, and LNG firefighting by attending Company-sponsored training.
