Digital Technician - Offshore

Our client is a very successful global owner and operator of offshore assets. They require a skilled digital technician to join the team offshore on a rotational basis.
Offshore Digital Technician
The Offshore Digital Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of control & safety systems, Ship office servers/PC's, ship networks and PI system installations of the vessel. The technician will have particular emphasis on the operation and maintenance of the PESD, ESD and Fire &Gas systems.

The Offshore Digital Technician is responsible for ensuring that the day to day activities are carried out in a safe and healthy manner and that the impact of such activities on the environment is within acceptable limits.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
*Carrying out repair and planned maintenance (PM) work on control & safety systems and ensure that the installation complies with the applicable rules and regulations.
*Ensuring that all jobs, modifications and corrections, are carried out in accordance with relevant procedures and revision log are updated.
*Ensuring that all databases (Foinaven: HW & SW, PJI: FOCUS), software applications (e.g., OS and S5), Cause & Effects (PESD, ESD, F&G), backups, documentation and procedures at any time are updated with latest revision.
*Carrying out repair and Planned Maintenance of PESD, ESD, F&G, in accordance to procedure / Planned Maintenance.
*Assisting electricians and instrument technicians as required.
*Reporting the status of the control & safety systems and any changes/modifications made
*Maintaining and calibrating all portable gas measurement instruments and training personnel in use of measure instruments and understanding of readings.


Job Requirements:
*Relevant Experience preferably in the oil & gas sector
*Qualified to HND / HNC in Electrical or Instrument discipline
*Experience with Siemens S5&S7 is essential
*Digital software experience is essential
*PLC interface experience is beneficial
