We are working with Aramco Overseas Company, the overseas arm of the Saudi Arabian NOC, Saudi Aramco. Due to the contract award of an ongoing design of a large project to be based in gothenburg (Sweden), we are looking for a Cost Engineer, working as a contractor directly for Aramco on one of the largest new refinery projects globally.

This position offers the right person the chance to be working with a market leader in the Oil & Gas sector, and will be forming part of the PMC team on a major project. As such, we are looking for a talented individual with sound experience on similar projects, with knowledge of Aramco systems and processes.

The job holder will be an expert in Cost Engineering backed up with demonstrable knowledge and excellent experience in similar roles, held in a senior capacity within the industry, preferably on large scale projects. As a point of liaison between the various departments on the project and the management team. Moreover, you will need to have experience as project controls manager being able to:

  • Communicating assigned project issues/concerns directly to Lead/Sr. Project Engineer and Business Administrator.
  • Integrates the project cost estimate, work hour estimate, and project schedule into the Cost Management baseline
  • Develops and maintains cost reports, cash flow/cancellation curves, and contingency analyses for the individual projects
  • Review monthly invoices.
  • Estimates costs of deviations and assesses impact on total project cost: works with Estimating to get assistance if needed
  • Ensures accurate reflection of committed/spent funds, Change Alerts, Project deviation notices, field change orders, and project execution changes in all cost documents
  • Assist with managing existing and amended AEL values
  • Liaison with Finance Department to monitor office space which is billable to the project as required to ensure that the project is not billed for space not being used
  • Derives an accurate and realistic forecast of all funds required to complete the project within the defined budget and schedule while incorporating own trending and analyses
  • Ensures accurate representation of cost and progress data in monthly reporting
  • Alerts the project team to critical Cost Management issues


Previous experience of working with Saudi Aramco will be highly valued, either as a direct hire, or as part of an EPC team working on an Aramco project. Sound interpersonal skills and a flexible and pragmatic approach to a variety or tasks will be required.
