GIS Analyst (Contract)

We employ a team of 140 professionals globally with operations in the United Kingdom, Singapore, and the United States (Houston and Florida). We have partnered with a Global Oil and Gas Operator that is looking for a GIS Analyst to join their team to provide basic geo-processing tasks, data digitizing, feature creation or editing, and mapping. The successful candidate will have 3+ years experience of GIS O&G projects and knowledge of O&G gas land leases and upstream operations.

Responsibilities:

• Works effectively within the L48 Land Department to ensure the company's assets are accurately represented in an electronic data base.
• Uses GIS software to perform basic geoprocessing tasks, data digitizing, feature creation or editing.
• Creates or edit map labels, annotations, symbology, representations, and legends.
• Conducts data research and compile spatial data as directed.
• Provides quality assurance for geospatial data and maps as directed.
• Assists with the creation of high-quality cartographic products.
• Assists in the update and creation of land parcel boundaries using appropriate tools.
• Assists with enterprise-wide GIS projects.
• Assists with wide format scanning or printing.
• Assists with maintaining, updating GIS Land system.
• Maintains intra-office communications to share data, procedures, efficiencies, and problem-solving.
• Follows required policies & procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls in daily activities.
• Performs other related duties/or special projects as directed.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Geography, GIS, Geology, or computer science preferred.
• Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS 10 or higher a plus.
• Excellent personal computing skills.
• Microsoft Office familiarity a plus.
• Knowledge of PLSS and rendering lots, tracts, metes & bounds descriptions a plus.
• Enjoys following a structure, systems and process protocols. Natural inclination toward organizational, categorization & synthesization skills.
• Able to handle high demand deadlines.
• Knowledge of Oil & Gas land leases and upstream operations
• Natural inclination to details. Takes pride in assuring accuracy, precision & thorough data representation.
• Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work within a collaborative team environment.
