What You Will Do

You will play a key role in ensuring efficient and compliant waste management onboard, contributing to environmental sustainability and operational excellence.

• Act as Designated Person within the Garbage Management Plan, responsible for all waste management processes onboard
• Monitor proper waste segregation and ensure full compliance with environmental regulations and company procedures
• Coordinate waste disposal operations and ensure correct labeling, storage, and landing of all waste types
• Prepare Waste Notifications for ports and ensure compliance with ship-specific Waste Disposal Schedules
• Support audits and inspections, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
• Provide training and guidance to crew on waste management and hazardous materials handling
• Promote process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and sustainability projects onboard
• Act as a point of contact between ship and shore for waste management initiatives

Who You Are

You are a structured and motivated professional with a strong interest in sustainability and environmental operations, eager to work in a dynamic and international environment.

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies or equivalent
• Experience in waste management, wastewater management, or strong sustainability background
• Fluent English (minimum B2 level)
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and manage operational processes
• Good communication and collaboration skills in a multicultural environment

Nice to have

• Experience in maritime or cruise industry
• Experience in supervising teams or coordinating operational activities
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance procedures
