Job Description

Starting July 30, 2026, we are looking for a deckhand.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Bosun.
• Form part of our drydock deck team.
• Assist with over-the-side operations (e.g. deployment/recovery of scientific equipment).
• Operate ship's offshore and deck cranes, overboarding systems and deck machinery.
• Perform steel preparation with manual and power tools (needle-guns, grinders, etc.).
• Paint interior and exterior of the ship (Jotun brand paint products).
• Wash down of the upper decks and assist the Interior Department team with cleaning, as required.
• Assist with and drive the ship's workboat and rescue boat.
• Assist in provisioning, taking stores and garbage management.
• Other tasks, as directed by the Chief Officer, Bosun or Assistant Bosun.

Requirements

• A/B - Deck STCW II/5 (for A/B applications only) or STCW II/4 Rating forming Part of a Navigational Watch certificate.
• Valid STCW certificates.
• Proficiency in Designated Security Duties.
• Negative drug test result on first day of employment.
• Clean criminal record.
