What makes you unique

  • Secondary school and Mechanical background / HVAC specialization
  • Diploma in Reefer/HVAC maintenance or equivalent
  • Certification to operate with refrigerants (F-gas)
  • At least 3 years of experience in HVAC/Refrigeration systems onboard ships or similar environments
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems
  • Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and spare parts management
  • Good level of English (minimum B2)
  • Structured, reliable, and safety-oriented mindset
  • Strong problem-solving and teamwork attitude

You will ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of onboard HVAC and refrigeration systems, contributing to Guests’ comfort, energy efficiency, and overall operational excellence.

HVAC & Refrigeration Operations

  • Monitoring, operating, and maintaining HVAC systems, chilled water systems, and air-conditioning plants
  • Ensuring proper functioning of refrigeration systems including provision rooms, compressors, and piping systems
  • Maintaining catering and cooled equipment such as ice machines, beverage systems, and galley refrigeration units
  • Performing preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns and ensure system efficiency.

Team Management & Coordination

  • Managing HVAC Technicians and supporting their development and performance
  • Allocating tasks, monitoring results, and ensuring quality standards
  • Collaborating with onboard departments and shore-side teams
  • Providing clear and timely reports to supervisors and management

Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement

  • Identifying faults and implementing corrective actions
  • Continuously improving system performance and reliability
  • Supporting spare parts management including ordering, verification, and storage
  • Ensuring compliance with Planned Maintenance System (PMS) requirements

Management of issues and problem solving

  • Addressing technical failures promptly to minimize operational impact
  • Supporting emergency interventions related to HVAC/refrigeration systems
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting issues to the Head of Department

Safety Culture & Awareness

  • Ensuring full compliance with HESS, USPH, and all safety and environmental regulations
  • Monitoring refrigerant usage, leakages, and implementing corrective measures
  • Promoting a strong health & safety culture onboard
  • Supporting safe operations and preventing risks for crew and guests
