This is an excellent and rare opportunity to join a global shipping company based in Glasgow.

You will provide support for all matters relating to Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation. Assisting in management of the EIA functions to the company’s vessels to ensure that they are operated safely, cost effectively and pollution free. Attending vessels for dry-dockings, project implementations, repairs, sea/gas trials and surveys as required by the company.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that the activities pertaining to electrical, instrumentation, automation and Navcom aspects within the Gas Operations comply with all Company Management System, HSEQ and Maintenance Philosophy Policies.
  • Being a subject matter expert for operational EIA LNG related matters.
  • Reviewing EIA and Navcom work plans, including repair and conversion specifications, and conduct inspections to ensure that established maintenance and repair/replacement strategies are being followed.
  • Acting as the primary contact for the Vessel Manager/Ship Team on relevant items, advising and troubleshooting on operational issues, when required.
  • Monitoring and analysing operational reports, identifying trends in equipment failures/defects, overdue maintenance, incidents, etc. Preparing summary reports and making recommendations to improve.
  • Support New Building & Projects specification reviews. Selection and evaluation of EIA & Navcom makers and equipment’s. Study of new technologies for either new builds or retrofits on vessels

Requirements

  • Education and training as an electrical engineer and ideally hold an ETO Unlimited CoC
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical, instrumentation and automation systems.
  • Seagoing experience as an Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) on gas carriers
  • Familiar with current technology and industry regulations.
  • Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Experience of LNG vessels either as a seafarer or in a superintendency role

You must have the right to work in the UK to be considered. The company offer a hybrid working policy which allows you to work from home up to 2 days a week.
