This is an excellent opportunity to join a global yacht management company based in Monaco.

The primary purpose of this role is to:

  • Support the effective administration of environmental compliance across the fleet in accordance with international and local requirements;
  • Develop and apply a strong working knowledge of environmental compliance responsibilities;
  • Contribute to monitoring and maintaining seafarer certification compliance;
  • Provide operational support and cover for environmental and crew compliance activities when required.

Responsibilities

  • Draft Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plans and manage the annual review process, including calculation of the Energy Efficiency Operational Indicator;
  • Monitor other MARPOL plans and environmental compliance documents and review against the applicable regulatory requirements;
  • Prepare and submit applications for US pollution prevention and response permits (NTVRPs), including assessing and interpreting applicable requirements.
  • Verify yachts are correctly crewed and seafarers properly certificated. This includes systematic checks and audits to ensure:
    • Seafarers are certificated in accordance with the requirements of STCW and MLC as appropriate;
    • Certificates and qualifications are valid, correctly presented and verified;
    • Reporting any areas of non-conformity to the Compliance Team, following up to ensure corrective action has been implemented.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or mathematical related discipline;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Has an interest in environmental regulations and policies;
  • Able to plan, organise and administer own workload;
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Proficient with the use of business IT systems, computer and cloud-based apps;
  • Ability to develop a good working knowledge of relevant international maritime regulations including ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, SOLAS, MLC & STCW;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Fluent in spoken and written English;
  • Eligible to work in Monaco;
  • Resident within daily commuting distance of the office.
