Marine Claims Leader - London - £100k - £120k

We are exclusively partnering with a major shipping company in London seeking a Claims Leader within the legal department to head the company’s claims function.

Responsibilities

The position focuses on managing complex maritime and personal injury claims while working closely with internal teams, external lawyers, insurers, and ship personnel. It involves overseeing and developing a claims team and handling matters with a high level of autonomy.

The successful candidate will manage admiralty and personal injury cases, support marine operations, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, monitor claims trends, budget for potential costs, report to senior management, and contribute to insurance renewal processes. There is an expectation of being on call for urgent issues and occasional travel.

Applicants should have a strong maritime legal or claims background, knowledge of shipping contracts, crew employment, and marine insurance, plus proven team management experience. Fluency in English is essential; additional languages are a plus.
