A leading specialist contractor in high-end marine interiors and bespoke fit-out solutions is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its delivery team. The organisation operates globally within the cruise, ferry, and luxury yacht sectors, delivering complex, design-intensive interior packages for new builds and refit projects.

This position plays a critical role in the commercial management of marine fit-out projects, working closely with project managers, design teams, shipyards, and international clients to ensure financial control and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project programmes aligned with shipyard schedules and installation phases
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim valuations in line with marine contract milestones
  • Manage and price variations arising from design development, site conditions, and client changes
  • Procure and commercially manage subcontractors and specialist marine trades
  • Administer subcontractor documentation, including contracts, variations, and payment applications
  • Review and interpret main contract conditions (often bespoke or shipyard-driven) and advise project teams on contractual obligations
  • Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports and manage project cost control through to final account
  • Identify and manage commercial risks specific to marine environments, including programme constraints, logistics, and access limitations
  • Support value engineering initiatives while maintaining design intent and marine compliance standards

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally within marine, offshore, or specialist interior fit-out projects
  • Strong understanding of project programming, preferably within constrained or phased delivery environments (e.g., shipyards)
  • Proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft Project
  • Solid technical and contractual knowledge, with the ability to interpret complex project documentation
  • Strong commercial awareness with proven ability to identify risks and opportunities
  • Effective communicator with experience working in collaborative, international project teams
