Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) (Permanent) – Ferries | Harwich

We’re proud to represent a leading international ferry company seeking an experienced Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) to join their crew on a full-time, permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities
As an Electro-Technical Officer, you will:
- Provide operational support to ship management teams, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective vessel operations within the electro-technical discipline
- Maintain and ensure the safe operation of all electrical and technical equipment onboard
- Manage identified risks to the vessel, personnel, and environment, implementing appropriate safeguards
- Act in accordance with duties outlined in the vessel’s safety organisation
- Develop, operate, and maintain the Planned Maintenance System for electro-technical equipment
- Provide emergency call-out support for critical systems, including safety and essential operational equipment
- Assist with onboard electro-technical projects and upgrades
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and emerging technologies
- Support dry dockings, refits, and emergency repairs, including safe Lock Out/Tag Out procedures
- Assist in the organisation and efficient running of the electro-technical function under the Chief Engineer’s direction
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must hold:
- STCW Elementary First Aid
- STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
- STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
- STCW Personal Survival Techniques
- STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats (PSCRB)
- STCW Seafarers with Designated Security Duties
- High Voltage Certification – Management Level
- Valid right to work in the United Kingdom
Preferred:
- Electro-Technical Officer CoC (III/6)
- Crowd Management Training
- Passenger Safety Training
- Previous experience onboard passenger or ferry vessels (highly desirable)
