3rd Engineer (Permanent) – Ferries | Harwich

Join one of Europe’s most respected ferry operators and play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of vessel machinery at sea. We’re proud to represent a leading international ferry company seeking an experienced 3rd Engineer to join their crew on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified marine engineer who takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of safety, technical excellence, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

As a 3rd Engineer, you will:

  • Assist in the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of engine room machinery and systems
  • Support planned maintenance and defect repairs across mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Participate in all statutory fire and safety drills onboard
  • Carry out duties assigned during emergency situations as per the muster list
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and company procedures
  • Assist with bunkering operations and fuel management
  • Maintain accurate engine room logs and records
  • Support the Chief Engineer and senior engineering officers as required

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must hold:

  • 2nd Engineer Unlimited CoC (III/2)
  • STCW Basic Training
  • STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats (PSCRB)
  • STCW Seafarers with Designated Security Duties
  • Valid ENG1 Medical Certificate
  • Proven experience working onboard commercial vessels (passenger vessel experience highly desirable)
  • Full right to work and reside in the United Kingdom
