Technical/Refit Project Manager (Yachts)

This is an excellent opportunity to join a global yacht management company. The role is remote with travel.

The Technical / Refit Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering yacht refit and major maintenance projects on behalf of the yacht management company and its clients. The role ensures projects are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest technical and safety standards, while maintaining clear communication with yacht owners, captains, shipyards, and contractors.

This position requires strong technical knowledge of large yachts, shipyard refits, and marine systems, combined with project management, budgeting, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight for a portfolio of managed yachts.
• Support captains and chief engineers in maintaining vessel systems and equipment.
• Develop detailed project plans including timelines, work scopes, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate technical works during shipyard periods, dry dockings, and winter maintenance.
• Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are achieved on schedule.
• Act as the primary liaison between yacht owners, captains, crew, shipyards, and contractors.
• Provide regular progress reports to owners and management.

Requirements

• Holds a Class Chief Engineer Unlimited.
• Strong commercial background and experience on yachts.
• Seagoing experience as a Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer (commercial) OR Chief Engineer (yachting Y1).
• Experience ashore as a Technical Superintendent, Naval Architect, Class Surveyor, and/or shipyard/refit Project Manager.
• High level understanding of SOLAS, MARPOL, and STCW (as applicable to engineering levels); Class rules.
• Strong project/refit/new build management skills.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Fluent in English (written & Spoken).
