Assistant Technical Superintendent

The role of the Assistant Technical Superintendent consists of being part of a highly motivated group, responsible to the Technical Manager, assisting the Technical Superintendents in regard to technical operation and performance, providing technical support to the Technical Superintendents as required.

Responsibilities

• Understudy the duties of the Technical Superintendent in preparation for promotion to that position.
• Responsible for a small number of vessels for all technical aspects of the operation.
• Assisting with dry dock planning and preparation.
• Provide limited cover for Technical Superintendents during periods when they are travelling on business or during holiday periods.

Requirements

• Ideally hold a 2nd Engineer Unlimited license
• Seagoing experience on Tankers or Dry Cargo vessels
• Shore based experience in a similar role (highly desirable)
• An enthusiastic approach, with excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
• Outstanding problem-solving capabilities.
• Target-driven and highly motivated, able to work under pressure.

You must have the right to work in the UK. The role is office based in Glasgow with the expectation of worldwide travel to vessels for inspections.
