We are supporting a leading international gas carrier owner in the search for a Marine Operations Manager at Marine Superintendent level to join their Copenhagen office. This is a high responsibility fleet role overseeing the marine assurance, navigation standards and cargo safety of 8 to 9 LPG vessels within a modern, globally trading fleet. Strong LPG experience is essential, with ethylene exposure considered a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day to day marine operations of 8 to 9 LPG vessels, ensuring safe navigation, cargo handling and operational readiness
  • Ensure vessels remain fully compliant with international regulations including SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM and OCIMF standards
  • Prepare vessels for SIRE, CDI, PSC, USCG and other third party inspections, driving effective close out of observations
  • Lead marine audits including navigation, cargo and mooring assessments, identifying improvement areas and implementing corrective actions
  • Support dry dock planning from a marine and security perspective, including pre and post docking visits
  • Monitor passage planning, weather routing and fleet wide navigation standards
  • Liaise with Class, Flag, Oil Majors and other key stakeholders to maintain vessel tradeability
  • Investigate incidents, near misses and safety reports, implementing preventative measures fleet wide
  • Support security management including HRA transits and SSAS testing
  • Collaborate closely with Technical, HSSEQ, Commercial and Crewing departments

Requirements

  • Master Mariner Class 1 Certificate of Competency
  • Minimum 7 to 8 years’ LPG experience including Chief Officer or Command experience
  • Strong knowledge of cargo operations, STS, navigation standards and marine assurance processes
  • Extensive exposure to SIRE, CDI and PSC inspections
  • Ethylene experience would be considered a strong advantage
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross functionally
  • Willingness to travel extensively, approximately 120 days per year
