Senior Shipping Solicitor – Singapore – $160k – $225k SGD

I am partnering with an international law firm who are hiring a Senior Associate (5+ PQE) to join its expanding Marine team in Singapore. The role offers the opportunity to work within a globally recognised law firm, handling high-value and complex matters for major insurers, P&I clubs, brokers, shipowners, charterers, logistics companies, and other stakeholders in the global marine sector.

Responsibilities

The role spans both contentious and advisory areas, including coverage disputes, subrogated recoveries, liability claims, and cross-border matters. Key responsibilities include managing a varied caseload across marine insurance lines such as hull and machinery, cargo, P&I, and freight liability, and advising on complex policy coverage issues.

Applicants will act in High Court litigation, LMAA and other arbitrations, and international disputes, and will be involved in drafting pleadings, opinions, policy wordings, and settlement agreements, while supporting partners on strategic, high-value cases and maintaining strong client relationships.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years PQE within maritime law; experience in dry shipping dispute work and English law matters is highly advantageous. The role is based in Singapore, and the firm will support sponsorship and relocation for a successful applicant currently based outside of Singapore.
