We are supporting a leading international gas carrier owner in the search for a Ship Manager at Technical Superintendent level to join their Copenhagen office. This is a high responsibility fleet role overseeing 4 to 5 gas and ethylene capable vessels within a modern, globally trading fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe and environmentally responsible operation of 4 to 5 fully pressurised, semi-refrigerated and ethylene capable gas carriers
  • Take technical, operational and financial responsibility for the day-to-day management of assigned vessels
  • Plan and coordinate logistics, spares, inspections and dry dockings, with regular vessel visits throughout the year
  • Monitor budgets and control vessel expenditure in line with approved financial plans
  • Maintain and oversee planned maintenance systems and technical documentation
  • Work closely with Masters, Chief Engineers, Crewing, Vetting and Commercial teams to ensure efficient vessel performance
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, dry docks, classification societies, oil majors and other external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with IMO regulations including ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL and STCW

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in a Ship Manager or Technical Superintendent role, or sailing experience as Chief Engineer
  • Sound technical knowledge of shipboard operations, ideally within gas carriers
  • Strong project management, budgeting and cost control experience
  • Ability to manage multiple vessels and priorities without compromising quality
  • Comfortable working independently within a dynamic owner environment
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Willingness to travel regularly and complete an international induction period if required
