We are currently seeking experienced ELECTRICIAN  for a temporary assignment during the Dry Dock of the cruise vessel PONANT.

Contract Period: 23 March 2026 – 02 May 2026
Engagement Type: Temporary Dry Dock Employment
Vessel: Le Boreal

Position Summary

  1. Responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, upkeep, diagnosis, installations, repair and testing of all electrical equipment onboard to the highest degree of safety and performance in accordance with Company Policies and in compliance with Public Health, any National or International standards or any other prescribed regulations.
  2. Ensures proper coordination with different technical parties and departments.

Reporting Structure

  1. Reporting to the Chief Electrician.

Safety, Security & Environmental management
The Electrician: 
- Follows the requirements of the SEMS and shall be fully aware of the Company Safety, Security and 
Environmental Policy 
- Shall work using the required Personal Protective Equipment 
- Reports any event or non-conformity liable to affect the ship and its operations, the quality, the 
safety, the security or the environment. 
- Is fully involved in protection of the environment at his own level 
- Fills in his/her working hours record form (ALL-FLEET-1.08c) at the end of each month. 
- Must know perfectly his emergency duties as described in form LBS-EMCY-3.06 Emergency duties 
- Takes part to different drills/instruction. 


Education/Experience/Qualifications:

  1. Valid STCW certification.
  2. Valid CoC A-III/7.
  3. Appropriate certification as required by regulations.
  4. Must have a solid understanding of all electrical equipment installed onboard the vessel.
  5. Extensive experience in subordinate positions and on board passenger ships in a similar role.
  6. Physically and medically fit.
  7. Moral integrity is required.
  8. Public Health, Sanitation and Environmental training courses are appreciated.
  9. Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings and manuals.
  10. Alaska experience is a plus.
  11. It is recommended to have Public Health, Coast Guard and Port State Control experience.

Language requirements:
Excellent fluent English (verbal, written and technical). English is the working and safety language on board. This also includes the ability to give and receive instructions in verbal and written forms and to effectively and efficiently engage with guests and crew members. Additional languages are considered beneficial.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Required to stand, walk long distances, reaching and sitting. Repetitive motion of bending, going up and down stairs, climbing ladders. Lifting or pushing of up to 50lbs. The position requires overtime work and irregular schedules. Works in all areas of the vessel with noise, light traffic and distracting environments.

Status - Rating.

Key Responsibilities

The Electrician:
- Follows the Chief Engineer’s standing orders. 
- Assists in the execution of maintenance as required by the BASS system / Maintenance Manual. 
- Makes inventories as required by the Chief Electrician. 
- Assists in maintaining all areas of the engine room and working area in a clean and safe condition. 
- Reports to the Hotel Engineer any non-conformities or hazardous occurrences observed in the 
course of his duties. 
- Performs any additional duties as may be required by the Master, the Chief Engineer or the Chief Electrician. 

He/she has to work according to the schedule established by the Chief Electrician and has particular 
responsibility of the maintenance of the following equipment: 
• crew cabin and area electricity 
• Internal normal and emergency light 
• External normal and emergency light 
• Engine room normal and emergency light 
• Galley, pantries and bar equipment 
• Engine platform, crew, pax and service lift 
• Small power panel 
• Lighting panels 
• Accommodation substation 
• Galley substations 

She/he will be available by UHF until 22h for emergencies in passenger’s cabins. 
Each morning he/she has to check the Intervention booklet on reception desk and had to fix as soon as 
possible each problem. In case of difficulties he/she should inform the Chief Electrician. Once the problem is 
fixed he/she should sign and date the booklet on reception desk. 
At the end of the month he should perform an inventory of the bulb lights, ballast , drivers.

Work Experience Requirements

All applicants must have previous experience in working on ships.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Mandatory STCW certificates are required from all applicants.
