Navis Consulting have a new role for a Mechanically biased Service Engineer. The role will include covering the customers and the distributor network throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa for all of their mechanical and electronic technical enquiries and training requirements. High level of travelling will be required and in some instances at short notice within the region of responsibility, this may also include out of region travel requests from time to time. A high level of knowledge and experience is required within hydraulics and mechanical controls.

Responsibilities

Providing mechanical and electronic technical and service support: Provide both on site and remote technical support. Advise customers as required in line with the product manual and jet operating procedures.

Deliver all mechanical training requirements: Provide training for a range of waterjets using PowerPoint documents and hands on training sessions. Includes hydraulics and mechanical controls.

Complete refurbishment service: Detail the refurbishment requirements with recommended parts replacement and costs

Mechanical Workshop Maintenance: Ensure that all Health and Safety practices are in place for the workshop. Ensure that the equipment and tools are in full working and safe order.

Requirements

  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship or similar qualification.
  • 3 – 5 years’ engineering experience gained working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in PPM and fault finding on hydraulics and pneumatics systems on modern machinery and equipment.
  • Using computer systems.
  • Ability to read electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings and circuit diagrams, mechanical fitting, electrical fitting.
  • A marine engineering background is highly desirable.
