Your life on board

As a 2nd Officer, you’ll be at the heart of ship navigation and safety. You’ll lead watchkeeping duties, support bridge operations, and ensure compliance with international maritime standards. You’ll also mentor Junior Officers and contribute to a strong safety culture on board.

Demonstrate your passion

  • You ensure safe and accurate navigation through leadership and expertise.
  • You support and mentor your team, fostering collaboration and growth.
  • You uphold safety and operational excellence with dedication and focus.

Get things right

  • You ensure safe and compliant watchkeeping across all navigational phases.
  • You oversee bridge operations, maintaining accuracy in systems and documentation.
  • You contribute to voyage planning and support the Master’s briefing preparations.
  • You manage GMDSS equipment and uphold communication standards.
  • You assist in monitoring ship stability and operational readiness.
  • You support Junior and Cadet Officers in their professional development.
  • You promote a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to HESS procedures.
  • You maintain the bridge environment, ensuring cleanliness and equipment functionality.

Safety First

  • You’ll actively support a safe and healthy onboard environment
  • You’ll follow HESS regulations and health protocols, reporting any violations.
  • You’ll assist in safety duties as directed by the Staff Captain and Safety Officers.

What makes you unique

  • You hold a diploma or degree in nautical sciences.
  • You have a valid STCW II/2 license.
  • You have at least 2 years of experience as an Officer On Watch, including one year as watch leader.
  • You’re skilled in Bridge Resource Management and bridge equipment operations.
  • You have a B2 level of English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
  • You’re resilient, collaborative, and passionate about guest experience.
