Serco have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Co-Ordinator to join our Maritime team supporting the DMS-NG C4 Offshore Operation. This is a high-impact role where your leadership, coordination, and planning skills will directly influence the success of a nationally significant marine contract.
We’re looking for a proactive, organised, and experienced individual to lead the delivery of key operational outputs. You’ll work closely with the Marine Operations Manager to ensure our afloat teams are resourced, compliant, and ready to deliver. With access to cutting-edge systems like SEAMS, Time2Work, and LMS.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead short- to medium-term planning to align crew and asset resources with anticipated tasking beyond the 48-hour operational window.
• Manage afloat personnel (excluding engineering staff) and provide direction to Operations Controller, and Systems Co-Ordinator.
• Oversee crew rotations, SQEP tracking, and compliance with STCW, MLC, and ISM standards.
• Maintain accurate schedules, mobilisation plans, and operational documentation using SEAMS, LMS, and Time2Work.
• Support crew logistics including travel, accommodation, training, medicals, and visas, with flexibility to manage directly when required.
• Liaise with HR and crewing agencies to source qualified personnel and support recruitment and onboarding.
• Coordinate vessel movements, port calls, and maintenance planning with stakeholders.
• Ensure documentation and records are accurate, approved, and stored in line with organisational standards.
• Track operational tasking and service requests, ensuring alignment with contractual entitlements and supporting invoicing.
• Represent the operation out-of-hours as Duty Controller on a rotational basis.
• Promote safety, assurance, and customer service excellence, using feedback to drive continuous improvement.
• Support governance, compliance, and succession planning initiatives across the contract.

What you’ll need to do the role:

Essential

• Diploma-level qualification or equivalent experience in operational planning or scheduling.
• Proven ability to plan and coordinate in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments.
• Strong understanding of crew coordination, including rotation planning, rest hour compliance, and certification tracking.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
• Experience working in unionised environments and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Eligibility for SC Security Clearance.

Desirable

• Background in the marine industry or broader maritime operations.
• Understanding of MoD and Royal Navy operating environments.
• Experience with port operations and service delivery in a commercial setting.
• Knowledge of governance and assurance in regulated marine environments.
• Experience working with unionised teams and supporting fair and balanced terms and conditions.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance in maritime operations (e.g., STCW, MLC, ISM).
