Sole Engineer (EOOW) – Temporary Contract | Shetland Islands, United Kingdom

Join a respected operator running a fleet of small passenger vessels in the beautiful Shetland Islands.
We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Sole Engineer (EOOW) to support our client on a temporary contract starting as soon as possible, with an expected duration of 3–4 weeks.
There is potential for ongoing work based on performance and operational needs.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all onboard machinery and systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for an adaptable engineer who enjoys working in a hands-on, self-reliant environment.

Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience sailing as a Sole Engineer or as part of a small engine room team.
• UK residence (required for travel and logistical reasons).
• Full driving licence, due to accommodation arrangements during the contract.

Required Certification

• EOOW Unlimited CoC
• Updated STCW Basic Training
• Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats (PSCRB)
• Designated Security Duties
• Valid ENG1 Medical
