Technical Superintendent

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established shipping company based in the UK and can be based from either Southampton or Hull.

We’re seeking an experienced Technical Superintendent to oversee the safe, reliable and operation of a fleet of bunkering tankers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day technical operations of assigned vessels.
• Plan and coordinate vessel maintenance, repairs, and dry dockings.
• Ensure compliance with IMO, Class, Flag State and SIRE.
• Work closely with vessel crews to ensure all safety, environmental, and quality procedures are followed.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the shipboard management team.
• Manage vessel budgets and control maintenance expenses.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to optimise vessel performance.
• Conduct regular vessel inspections and audits to identify potential problems and areas for improvement.

Requirements

• Sailed to position of Chief Engineer / 2nd Engineer
• Previous shore-based experience as Technical Superintendent preferred, but shipboard engineers with relevant vessel experience may also be considered.
• Strong knowledge of marine engineering systems, planned maintenance systems and maritime regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel for vessel visits and inspections.
• Driving License
