We are currently looking for a dynamic professional to join us as our Senior SHE Manager for our project for our industrial terminal in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. This contract position will be based on site.

Key Responsibilities

*Manage ongoing legacy obligations and SHE related processes
*Monitor & develop environmental and local regulatory requirements and risk initiatives; analyze potential impacts on project progress
*Provide project team and upper management with information as appropriate
*Ensuring timely environmental technical support. This support will be provided in the areas of regulatory compliance, compliance reporting, SHE data management, enforcement action response, and regulatory agency mediation
*Stakeholder engagement - Primary stakeholders include Integrated Project Team, JV regional management, regional SHE, technical operations, engineering, project management teams, as well as external customers (regulatory agencies and partners)
*Assisting the Project Director and Senior Project Manager in managing risks for the Project as they relate to HSE aspects during all phases of the Project
*Providing assistance and input to HSE risk reviews for the Project and participating in developing risk mitigation plans as they relate to HSE risks
*Establishing and maintaining a good working relationship and effective communication with other members of the Integrated Project Team
*Establishing and maintaining an effective relationship and good communication with the Project HSE teams
*Reviewing and monitoring the implementation and maintenance of the HSE Management Plan through periodic audits
*Ensuring that high standards of SHE are maintained for the duration of the project and that the SHE objectives for the Project are regularly communicated to personnel
*Developing and implementing SHE training and incentive programmes relevant to work activities on site
*Reviewing, monitoring and reporting the effectiveness of SHE procedures, activities and programmes on site
*Supporting and facilitating SHE activities planning, implementation and execution of the construction and commissioning teams on site
*Taking a leading role in the investigation of near miss incidents and accidents on site and recommending corrective measures as required
*Ensuring the implementation of a Permit to Work (PTW) system and PTW training for the commissioning and operation phases of the Project
*Attending Client and Project meetings to coordinate related SHE matters
*Assisting the Senior Project Manager in ensuring that internal and external Project SHE interfaces are identified and managed in such a manner to ensure complete SHE coverage
*Monitoring, compiling and reporting SHE statistics to the Senior Project Manager, Project Director and JV management as required
*Reviewing SHE resources at site and ensuring that the SHE resource requirements for the Project are achieved
*Organising, coordinating and executing periodic site emergency exercises which includes participation of local emergency services

Job Requirements

*Bachelor of Engineering or Science degree in the area of Environmental studies or related fields
*Conversant with International Standards and Maritime codes
*At least 10 years of professional experience from working on oil & gas projects with a strong knowledge of Environmental regulations and some Health and Safety regulatory knowledge, with at least 5 years of experience in managing bigger construction projects
*Demonstrated experience in the application of SHE management systems and construction safety
*Direct safety management experience in marine facilities construction, and has overcome construction and safety challenges in adverse weather conditions
*Experience in safety management of jetty construction is a plus
*Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with wide variety of audiences (operators, management, engineering, etc,)
*Ability to drive results, driving change, business understanding and teamwork
*Thorough understanding of risk management, as relates to environmental, and loss control methodology
