Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a results-driven Area Sales Manager who thrives on identifying and securing new retrofit and upgrade contracts within the global maritime and offshore energy sectors.

This role is ideal for someone who is confident navigating technical discussions with shipowners, operators, and equipment suppliers—and who understands the commercial dynamics of engineering-driven vessel projects.

A. New Business & Lead Development

  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in target maritime and offshore markets.

  • Build a healthy opportunity pipeline by prospecting vessel owners, managers, and OEMs.

  • Convert early-stage leads into active sales discussions with technical and commercial stakeholders.

  • Focus on volume and velocity by driving multiple retrofit and modernization project wins.

  • Own and manage the full sales cycle with an entrepreneurial, hunter-style mindset.

B. Account Management

  • Cultivate long-term relationships with key clients across ship ownership and OEM channels.

  • Act as a commercial liaison and trusted advisor for recurring or strategic accounts.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to align technical offerings with client needs.

  • Propose tailored retrofit and energy-efficiency solutions based on operational insights.

C. Market Research & Intelligence

  • Stay updated on industry trends, retrofit demand drivers, and competitor positioning.

  • Report on customer behavior, market activity, and pricing benchmarks.

  • Maintain detailed sales metrics, forecasting reports, and CRM records.

D. Representation & Visibility

  • Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and client meetings worldwide.

  • Promote technical capabilities and reinforce the company’s positioning as a retrofit partner.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial experience in maritime, marine engineering, or offshore sectors.

  • Proven success in winning project-based work, ideally involving retrofits or vessel modifications.

  • Existing network and strong relationships within the shipowner, operator, or OEM community.

  • Solid understanding of vessel systems, operations, and technical integration challenges.

  • Engineering background preferred (Mechanical, Naval Architecture, or Marine Engineering).

  • Fluent in technical sales dialogue; able to speak confidently with engineers and operators.

  • Self-motivated, driven, and capable of working independently in international environments.

  • Honest, open-minded, and team-oriented approach aligned with long-term client value.
