The job offers flexible hours in a hybrid model and only involves 1 or 2 days in the office each week with the balance from home

Responsibilities

  • Working with Computer Aided Design. 2D
  • Prepare Stow plans for single and multiple yacht shipments, from forecast model, identifying stowage anomalies, routing, and port calls are planned for best efficiency of space and time. These must be completed quickly and amending frequently to meet the everchanging shipment portfolio.
  • Design lifting plans identifying correct placement of slinging, using in house or external inventories and cradling and cribbage plans in support of Part Charter operations.
  • Prepare guidance plans for Flat rack and Mafi trailer stows with and without Flatrail systems.
  • Create lashing plans based on CSS code Rule of thumb and Advanced calculations.
  • Deliver Planning Package to complete Transportation Manuals for shipment of High Value or Bespoke cargoes.
  • Design, produce and deliver method statement packages to assist Loadmasters.
  • Import or recreate PDF or JPEG files scaling to fit standard scaling.
  • Create, populate, maintain and update DWG Database for vessels, individual yachts, commercial cargoes, cradling types and lifting equipment in multiple formats.
  • Prepare drawings to assist sales teams in quoting for tasks then follow up plans once bookings are made.
  • Prepare and assist in cradle design, actively contributing to design, producing technical plans to allow for internal or 3rd party fabrication. If qualified preparing technical files for all fabrications.
  • Prepare any Stand and cradle dimensions to 3rd party suppliers to ensure correct and accurate cradling solution is achieved.
  • Calculate the various loadings to cranes, lifting gear deck capacities to ensure limits are not breached.
  • Attend domestic or foreign loadings or discharges either to assist with works but mainly to expand experience and knowledge of realities of planning versus actuals.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and adaptability to use other Software packages
  • Experienced and good history of working in commercial maritime sector. (Deck Officer, Port Captain, Cargo superintendent, Surveying or yachting industries).
  • Excellent experience of Computer Aided Design (CAD) 2d – CAD 3d an advantage
  • Good Background knowledge of engineering principles, naval architecture and ship/port working.
  • Lifting equipment rig design or usage
