Faststream has partnered with a global Oil and Gas Industry leader that is looking for a Corrosion Engineer.

The Corrosion Engineer role will be based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Responsibilities for the Corrosion Engineer role:

  • Reviewing operating and inspection history
  • Identifying corrosion mechanisms
  • Assigning expected corrosion rates based on experience, history and literature
  • Following industry standards and in-house work procedures
  • Presenting corrosion studies at refinery sites
  • Writing technical reports

Experience with and expertise in the following is essential for the Corrosion Engineer role:

  • Refinery corrosion issues and controls
  • Understanding refinery processes
  • Materials selection
  • API 581, NACE MR0103 and other API and NACE standards
  • Metallurgical analyses

Experience and familiarity with the following is preferred for the Corrosion Engineer role:

  • Failure analysis
  • Welding and repair consulting
  • Inspection planning
  • Risk prioritization of process equipment

Corrosion Engineer will interact with the RBI department to provide support for Risk Based Inspection and Reliability Based Mechanical Integrity implementation projects. Support will include performance of corrosion studies, risk assessments, and inspection planning using company's RBMI technology.

Strong expertise in the oil & gas refining industry is a requirement.

Requirements for the Corrosion Engineer role:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Corrosion Engineering in a Refinery Environment.
  • Bachelors Degree in Chemical or Materials Engineering.
