This is an excellent opportunity to join a global yacht management company based in Monaco.

Reporting to the Head of Crew Services, you will work alongside Crew Services, the Yacht Managers and their Assistants, the Safety & Security Team, and the Accounts Team

Responsibilities

Crew HR Management:

  • Oversee all crew-related HR issues, including documentation, certificates, employment terms and conditions, termination procedures, and knowledge of various yacht situations and crew requirements.
  • Assist with the management of crew holiday calculations, address salary queries, and ensure compliance with employment laws.

Advisory role:

  • Provide expert advice to the Yacht Management team and Captains on crew matters, ensuring alignment with current policies, procedures, and employment laws.
  • Visit yachts as required to provide this guidance and implement new policies and procedures.

Maritime Labour Convention (MLC), 2006 compliance:

  • Implement and administrate the maintenance of MLC, 2006 on all managed yachts.
  • Ensure all MLC-related documentation for the yachts is up to date.

Documentation and templates:

  • Maintain crew paperwork templates, including MLC documentation, to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Crew Services:

  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the Crew Services product, including overseeing the implementation of social security liabilities.
  • Oversee crew administration and payroll for all managed yachts.

Crew insurance management:

  • Understand the Burgess Crew Medical Insurance policy.
  • Assist with crew insurance claims related to illness and accidents, keeping all relevant parties informed of claim progress.

Professional Development:

  • Attend relevant seminars and presentations, providing comprehensive reports to the management team on matters of general interest arising from the events.

Cadetships and Recruitment:

  • Liaise with yachts to implement cadet training programs.
  • Assist with crew recruitment, specifically Captain and Head of Department positions.

Requirements

Essential Qualities:

  • Prior Yacht Crew Management Experience: Demonstrable experience working in yacht crew management and employment, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of the industry.
  • Crew Certification Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of crew certification processes and requirements within the yachting sector.
  • Decision-Making Skills: Excellent decision-making skills, displaying sound judgment and the ability to make informed choices under pressure.
  • IT Proficiency: Strong IT skills, with the ability to use MS Office products to an intermediate level for efficient data management and communication.
  • Organisational and Administrative Skills: Adept at organisation and administration of office work, ensuring smooth and streamlined processes.
  • Language Proficiency: Good standard of written and spoken English.
  • Independence and Initiative: Ability to work independently, take initiative where necessary, and contribute proactively to the Yacht Management team.
  • Discretion and Confidentiality: Demonstrate 100% discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive crew-related matters
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in one or more of the following languages: French, Italian, Spanish (desirable)
