A leading Cruise line is looking for Lounge Technician’s they are going to be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of sound and lighting systems in all auxiliary entertainment venues onboard.
Responsibilities
General Technical Duties
-
Operate and maintain sound and lighting systems in auxiliary venues.
-
Conduct daily venue rounds to:
-
Verify appropriate audio levels.
-
Adjust ambient lighting according to schedule and venue.
-
Serve as a backup technician in other venues as needed.
-
Set up and strike equipment for:
-
Charters
-
Promotional events
-
Private island/pier setups
-
Cruise staff activities and theme nights
Maintenance & Repair
-
Execute and document AMOS Work Orders.
-
Maintain HVAC airflow, ensure clean and leak-free technical spaces.
-
Maintain all backline equipment and assist in tracking performance gear.
-
Coordinate with Stage Production Manager and Head Sound and Light Technician on repairs, replacements, and inventory.
-
Create and update a band setup book and maintain detailed technical rider documentation.
Administrative & Operational Duties
-
Check and manage LNGE email account daily; include leadership in correspondence when necessary.
-
Use approved communication channels for all external communication.
-
Archive and label all equipment correctly, ensuring show files and passwords are backed up and securely stored.
-
Maintain and update handover notes with comprehensive photo/video documentation for incoming LNGE replacements.
Training & Development
-
Mentor Technical Stage Staff in auxiliary venue operations to support future promotion into LNGE roles.
Requirements

Requirements
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Technical Theater, A/V, or related field preferred
-
Previous experience in live sound, lighting, or stage production required
Knowledge & Skills
-
Sound: Familiar with mixing consoles (Mackie, Yamaha, DiGiCo), outboard gear (EQs, compressors, gates), and microphone/stage monitor placement
-
Lighting: Basic operation of show lighting consoles and maintenance of intelligent and conventional fixtures
-
Backline: Familiarity with standard band gear (amps, keyboards, etc.) and stage setup
-
Maintenance: Capable of troubleshooting, replacing blown drivers, and performing minor repairs
-
Software: Proficient in software tools used in entertainment tech environments
-
Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; ability to work independently and under pressure
-
Industry Awareness: Keeps current with technical trends and developments
Physical, Vision & Hearing Requirements
-
Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds
-
Normal vision and hearing (with or without correction)
-
Physically fit to participate in emergency drills and life-saving procedures
Language Requirements
-
Fluent in spoken and written English
-
Able to interpret and communicate technical instructions clearly and professionally
