A leading Cruise line is looking for Fly Operators to be responsible for the daily operation, safety, and maintenance of all performer flying equipment onboard, primarily within the ship’s main theatre and other entertainment venues.

Responsibilities

Performer Flying Systems

  • Operate and call all performer fly sequences during cast shows and rehearsals.

  • Inspect and maintain all flying gear, harnesses, and equipment.

  • Ensure only trained, approved performers use aerial systems and only execute pre-approved aerial moves.

  • Uphold industry and brand safety standards.

Show & Event Support

  • Participate in all rehearsals, aerial training sessions, and performances.

  • Assist in stage resets and automation cueing.

  • Support the setup of headline entertainer shows (e.g., tables, stools, cables).

  • Serve as liaison between entertainers and lighting/sound technicians.

Theatre Operations

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing stage setup.

  • Ensure theatre doors are opened on time and that venues are show-ready.

  • Deliver and uphold a high standard of technical and artistic production.

  • Monitor and contribute to entertainment satisfaction scores.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Theatre (with technical or rigging focus) or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 4 years of theatrical tech experience, including performer flying and backstage rigging.

  • Proficient with motorized rigging systems, winches, and hoists.

  • Comfortable working at heights (up to 50 feet).

  • Basic audio setup and troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong computer skills (Mac/PC), projector/AV connection troubleshooting.

  • Cruise ship or touring experience is a plus.
