A leading Cruise line is looking for Stage Technician’s to join there fleet. To support the technical execution of onboard entertainment, assisting with setup, operation, and breakdown of shows and events. This includes backstage duties, equipment handling, minor maintenance, and ensuring smooth venue operation.
Responsibilities

Show Support:
-
Set up/strike props, set pieces, and equipment for rehearsals and performances.

Assist with costume changes and operate spotlights as needed.

Maintain stage cleanliness and report technical issues.

Event & Venue Support:
-
Assist with group events, theme nights, and guest entertainer logistics.
-
Prepare venues on boarding days and follow opening/closing schedules.

Maintain organization and safety of backstage areas.

Maintenance & Inventory:
-
Perform minor carpentry/painting; secure and store equipment safely.

Report maintenance needs and keep inventory updated.

Administrative:
-
Attend meetings and trainings; update backstage track sheets.

Follow company policies and participate in emergency drills.

Requirements
Qualifications
-
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Technical Theater, AV, Sound, or Lighting preferred.
-

Experience:
-
1–2 years of experience with stage equipment/prop handling.
-
Background in technical theater (sound, lighting, rigging, electrical) preferred.
-
Internal candidates must have completed at least one (1) full year in their original position.

Knowledge & Skills
-
Understanding of sound, lighting, rigging, and technical theater operations.
-
Ability to perform minor repairs (carpentry, painting).
-
Familiarity with shipboard production environments.
-
Up-to-date knowledge of entertainment technology trends.
-
Comfort with industry-related software is a plus.
Physical & Sensory Requirements
-
Must pass company medical evaluation.

Must have:
-
Full mobility (arms, legs).
-
Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
-
Good visual and auditory acuity, with or without correction.
-
Ability to participate in emergency procedures and life-saving drills.
-
Language Requirements
-
Fluent in spoken and written English.
-
Ability to clearly give and receive instructions, interpret documents, and communicate with guests and crew.
