The Client

A successful accommodation rig owner is looking for a Planning Co-ordinator to join the team. They are leaders in the Aberdeen market and are expanding steadily due to this.


The Role
The role of the Co-ordinator Planning is to co-ordinate the planning services to the Supply Department.

An overall master schedule shall be established for the Company fleet of vessels including committed contracts, shipyard stays, renewal surveys/ SPS, transits, CAPEX work, lay-up, etc.

?To gather sufficient details to ensure effective control of all objects going into the project deliverables. This may be achieved through sub-suppliers plans or through development of detailed plans as required.
?To identify, monitor (continuously) and report critical activities to Project Management / Project Execution Team.
?To perform clear and accurate progress cut off reporting to management and clients.
?To describe the planning process for any product delivery projects. Key outputs include 5 year, 18 month, 90 day and 6 week plans.
?To define sufficiently detailed logical network to define need dates for materials and components. The network shall include fabrication and test activities in sufficient detail to define need dates for materials and components.
?To update the integrated network with engineering and procurement activities to enable effective analysis of the network based on those detailed plans.
?To collect reports from the Engineering and Procurement Department and report deviations.
?To monitor sub-contractors plan (if any required) and analyse and report deviations. To prepare weekly and monthly reports as required by the client.
?To give a schedule input to Variation Orders and define / analyse cumulated effect on overall project.
?To establish WBS

?Ensure the timely production and issue of integrated plans for all offshore vessels. The plans will include specific ongoing and future vessel contract information, proposed IRM works, CAPEX works and Client requirements.


The Person

City & Guilds in shipbuilding, HND or equivalent engineering qualification or university degree in engineering or similar.
Computer competence, fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite of programs including database applications and project planning software, in particular Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.
Strong experience as project planner in oil & gas or Ship Construction/Ship Repair Industries
Thorough knowledge and understanding of marine engineering systems, project management, contract and repair/upgrade strategies.
Ability to work independently as well as to work as part of a team, be well-organised and able to take own initiatives.
